Photo Journaling
Photo journaling is a really fantastic hobby that combines two of my favorite things: photography and writing. What's great about photo journaling is that it's an extremely personal experience and there's no 'right' or 'wrong' way to do it. It's all about exploring your creativity and expressing your thoughts, feelings, and experiences through images and words.
Ward and I have been keeping our photo journals for a few months now and it has been an enlightening experience. I've been using a $90 HP printer to print out the photos I want to include in my journal. It's a simple and cost-effective printer, but what I love about it is that it prints onto stickers. So, I just print the photo, peel off the back, and stick it into my journal.
The process of choosing which photos to include is a personal journey in itself. Sometimes, it's an image I've taken that's particularly meaningful to me - maybe it captures a special moment, or maybe it's just an image that I find aesthetically pleasing. Other times, I'll include images taken by others that inspire me or stir some kind of emotional response. There are no rules about what can or can't be included - it's all about what resonates with you.
After sticking the photo into my journal, I write about it. Sometimes, I write about the story behind the image: what was happening when it was taken, why it's meaningful to me, and what I was feeling at the time. Other times, I might write about what the image represents to me, or the thoughts and emotions it evokes. I might even write about the technical aspects of the photo, like the composition, lighting, or technique.
The beautiful thing about photo journaling is that it's just for me. It's a private, personal space where I can express myself freely, without worrying about what anyone else thinks. It's a place where I can explore my creativity, reflect on my experiences, and preserve memories in a tangible form. It's a relaxing and therapeutic activity that allows me to slow down and take time to appreciate the beauty and complexity of the world around me.
So, have you thought about starting your own photo journal? It's a simple and affordable hobby that can provide a wealth of benefits, from boosting your creativity to helping you stay mindful and present in your day-to-day life. And who knows? You might discover a passion for photography or writing that you never knew you had!
I do some journaling for sure, taking a break right now since I moved and couldn't take a lot with me. I'm curious as to the printer model and paper you are suing to print the sticker prints for your journal?
